Welcome to the Sts. Cosmas and Damian Guild of the Archdiocese of Santa Fe

About Us

Welcome Health Care Professionals,

On behalf of our board of directors, I welcome you to the website of New Mexico’s newest guild of the Catholic Medical Association (CMA). The CMA is the largest association of Catholic individuals in health care in the United States. Our group is comprised of physicians, physician assistants, nurses, nurse practitioners, medical assistants, dentists, hygienists, psychologists, therapists, nutritionists, social workers, health care administrators and clergy. We are all Catholic, and with our diverse individual roles we all aspire to apply the principles of our faith to care for our patients and their families.

We ask all of you to become members of the CMA. Just having fellowship and sharing with other Catholic providers and discussing all the ethical/moral/controversial topics in health care can strengthen us in these tumultuous times. There is an amazing amount of educational material on the national website which supports our Catholic principles in the advocacy for our patients. Additionally, attending the annual national CMA meeting is life changing and a wonderful way to recharge your Catholic faith. You will never be the same after going to this conference. The meeting this year starts on Sept 4th in Orlando, Florida. If you can’t make it to Orlando please see the website for amazing talks from past meetings and plan on attending next year.

Finally, we are fortunate in that our guild is the home of the University of New Mexico as well as the UNM School of Medicine and other allied health programs. We have the opportunity to mentor and assist these young Catholic students as they embark in their health care careers. Students from the UNM School of Medicine have already started a student chapter of our Guild, and we look forward to helping them mature not only in their careers but also in their Catholic faith. Thank you for visiting our website. We hope you will join us in upcoming events, and we ask you to prayerfully consider becoming a member of this critically important organization.

Please don’t hesitate to contact me at [email protected] or through our guild email at [email protected] if you have any questions about our organization or upcoming events.
